Sister Joann Hothersall

I'm Sister Joann Hothersall. I was drawn to St. Benedict's Monastery by the witness of the Sisters to a strong life of prayer and community. In the fall of 2010, I made monastic profession and now I am totally committed to walking in the path of St. Benedict. It is a joy to share the common life, praying, working, studying the rule, and recreating with my Sisters. I am also privileged and delighted to minister at Mercy Intellectual Disabilities Services: Ross Adult Training Facilities. I learn so much while assisting others who have mental and physical challenges. My favorite quote from the Rule of Benedict is, “Listen with the ear of your heart.” That is what I strive to do each and every day.
