Meet the sisters   [view all sisters]

Sister Dolores Conley

Many years ago, probably when I was a novice, I discovered my favorite quote in the Holy Rule of St. Benedict in the Prologue, verse 49: “As we progress in this way of life and in faith, we shall run on the path of God’s commandments, our hearts overflowing with the inexpressible delight of love.” Yes, ever since, I have been running. My life progressed with many opportunities for developing a solid spiritual life as well as academically and physically, including ballet for liturgical dance and swimming.

As an artist I have very recently completed the Stations of the Cross done in ceramic clay depicting the hands of Christ. Designing and forming the hands of Christ has been a spiritual revival for me. Handmade paper art forms in the line of greeting cards, angels, fairies, quilts and figures are primarily creative outlets for display and sale.

In the monastery I have the privilege of serving as sacristan in the chapel involving preparation for the liturgical functions. On special occasions I am asked to dance as part of a liturgical service.

My life has been most blessed but the greatest blessing has been the support and love of my sisters in Christ.
