A night to remember

Saturday evening, March 19, 2011, will long be remembered by the Benedictine Sisters of Pittsburgh for that is the night LaRoche College recognized the 27 religious communities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh by honoring them with the Ad Lucem Award. The award was presented at the Sixth Annual LaRoche Founders Gala held at the Westin Conference Center Hotel.

Ad Lucem—“to light” certainly summarizes the vision and hopes of all the Sisters of the diocese as they quietly work to bring faith and life, education, support, and healing, courage and direction to the lives of those around them. The lovely blue and crystal flame of the award sculpture is a fitting tribute to the work of the Sisters and a reminder of the bright presence of LaRoche College in our midst.

The event was made truly memorable by the beauty of the music and the dynamic and graceful dance performances provided by LaRoche students. Quiet conversation and laughter among friends added to the enjoyment of a superb dinner.

It was indeed a night to be remembered and the Benedictine Sisters are truly grateful to Sister Candace Introcaso, President of LaRoche College and the Board of Directors.
