Benedictine Senior Center to close

The Benedictine Senior Center, established and staffed by the Benedictine Sisters of Pittsburgh since 1985, will close with a gala celebration on November 23, 2010 at noon. The Center, co-sponsored by the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging for the last 25 years, is located in Benedictine Hall just behind St. Benedict Monastery at 4530 Perrysville Avenue. The Sisters and Administrators of the AAA will work with participants to find places that match their needs for socialization, education, and a good lunch with good friends.

On October 14 between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. the Senior Center will host an Information Smorgasbord. Directors from other Senior Centers in the area will be on hand to share information and answer questions. There will be information tables, short presentations, group discussion, and details about field trips to other Senior Centers. A nice lunch will be served and it will close with an ice cream social.
